The American Flag!

This week we are celebrating the 4th of July and learning about the holiday. Today we talked about the history of the holiday and how George Washington fought for freedom and how Betty Ross sewed the first flag. We also learned that each star on the flag is for all 50 states. So while the kids were coloring their own flags they kept giving the star names. (Iowa,Wisconsin, California, etc.)

A very hungry caterpillar

This week are celebrating the books of Eric Carle. His birthday is June 25th. He writes and illustrates his own children books. A popular one is "A Very Hungry Caterpillar". Today we read the book and then made our own caterpillars.

Our 1st Bike Day!

Bike day was a hit! We had very little accidents (which is great for the first ride of the year) and we took many breaks throughout the morning for bathroom, water and to sit under a shade tree. We also had a light sprinkler set up for them to ride through a few times to cool down. It was definitely a warm day but everyone enjoyed it.
