Daniel and the Lions Den

To end our Old Testament theme we talked about Daniel and the Lions Den today. The story is about Daniel who does everything to serve his leader. The other servants are jealous of him so they set him up to be thrown in a den with lions. God sent an angel to protect him from harm. When the leader went to check on Daniel he did not have a scratch on him.

Joseph and the coat of many colors

Today we learned about the story of "Joseph's coat of many colors." The story is about a father who gave his youngest and favorite son Joseph a colorful coat. His brothers were jealous of the gift so they took the coat from him and sold Joseph to be a slave. The brothers lied to their father and said a wild animal had killed Joseph. Meanwhile with God's help Joseph had worked hard and was chosen to be second in command of Egypt.

 

Jonah and the Whale

Today for Old Testaments we talked about the story of Jonah and the Whale. We learned that Jonah was asked by God to do something he did not want to do. So he did the opposite and had to deal with the consequences of his actions. So during a storm God sent a Whale to swallow Jonah. For 3 days Jonah was praying from the inside of the Whale to God to be rescued. After the whale spit him out he followed through with Gods request.

This week we are talking about the Hero's of the Old Testament in the Bible. Each day we will be learning about a different story like David and Goliath, Jonah and the Whale, Daniel and the Lion, Joseph and the coat of many colors and to start the week off today we talked about The Ten Commandments.
