"Selfie"- Their words not mine!

Today I let the kids take turns on the IPAD- playing with the learning apps we have. One of the groups got into the Photo Booth app and they were taking "selfies". Their words not mine. :) So I allowed each group a few mintues to take pictures of themselves. Needless to say it turned out to be entertaining because they were all enjoying the pictures and our classroom was filled with loud children laughter!!

Sweet and Sour

Today we talked about Taste and our taste buds. For "art" we did a Tongue tasting. We tried a bite of Lemon-Sour, Skittles-sweet, Grapefruit-bitter, Potato Chips- salty. Of course chips and skittles were the kids favorites. A few of them tried the lemon more then once. By the 2nd or 3rd bite they were making faces and changed their minds about liking them. :) Below you will see the reactions they had when they ate the lemon. :D

The lights went out!

We talked about touch and sight. For touch our art today we wrote with glue and then used rice for a rough material to cover the letters. For sight we each wore a blindfold and had to try walking across the room using just our ears to listen and our hands to touch. 

Mr. Potato Head

Today we continued talking about our 5 senses. We watched a music video about the senses and what each one does. For art we labeled a Mr. Potato head- Taste, Sight, Sound, Touch & Smell. Then the kids got to color it. The kids are doing a great job making a list of L words. We have already filled up a whole sheet of paper and it is only day 2. We also have 3 new sight words this week. Little, look and all. The kids are doing a great job learning the weekly sight words.

This week we are talking about our 5 senses. Today we made a list of all 5 senses and why each one is important and how we use them throughout the day.
