Basket Races

With the cold wearther and all of us being cooped up this past week. We decided to have a few basket races today and relay races inside. The kids loved it and it was a great way to burn off energy! We also finished off our week of Outer Space talking about the Moon, Sun, Astronauts and gavity. For art we had to place the planets around the run. They kids also drew lines around the planets to show them orbiting around the sun.

Earth

Today we learned a little about our planet  Earth. We talked about how the earth rotates around the sun and how the moon rotates around the earth. We also wrote our letter P's and practiced our two sight words- See and We.

Outer Space

Today we talked about each Planet in our solar sytem and what makes each one special. We also talked about how many moons each planet has. Our song this week is called "We are the Planets". It is sung by the planets explaining what makes them different from other planets. We have only listened to it twice but today I caught the kids singing it long after we heard it. (apparently they like it). :D
