You Make My Heart Happy.

This week is all about Valentine's, family and friends. I asked the kids why they thought we have the holiday Valentine's Day. I loved the responses I got. One boy said "It's a day to tell your family you love them". A little girl said "It is a day for girls and boys to get married and become a Husband and Wife". For one of our centers we have a mailbox and little pieces of paper. The kids are able to decorate their own Valentine Cards and send them to anyone they want in the mailbox. I told them I would write a few things down for them to look at for spelling. They asked me to write "I love you", "Mom and Dad" and "Happy Valentine's Day".

Fingerprints on our hearts!!

This week we are having fun with a few Valentine projects. The kids will make a new Valentine craft each day with someone in mind to give it to and on Friday they will bring them home for their families. :) Our centers all revolve around friends and family this week.

Colorful snakes

Today we focused on the term Reptile. We learned Reptiles don't have a constant body temperature. They are only able to a limited extent to actively regulate their body temperature, which is dependent on the environmental temperature. Most reptile species are egg laying.

5 little speckled frogs

Today we enjoyed a fun frog art project. We read the book "A wide-mouthed frog" and made our own wide mouth frogs using our handprints. We also learned the finger play/song "Five Little Speckled Frogs". The kids have been doing a great job this week with letter R words for our list and all of them have been doing a great job writing their letter Rr.

Rylee is this weeks Star Student

Rylee is our Star Student this week. She has enjoyed bringing a new toy each day and sharing her pictures with her friends.

The Life of a Frog

Today we talked about Frogs and amphibians. We learned the life cycle of a frog. For art the kids had to place the 5 stages of a frogs life in order. After reading a book, they were all able to do put them in order.

Snakes

This week we are learning about Reptiles and Amphibians. Today we focused on Snakes. Our letter this week is R, the kids did a great job coming up with a list of R words. The sight words this week are easy (on, at). Most of the kids were able to tell me what they were as soon as I put them up on the board. For art the kids made their own colorful snakes.
