Sports day!

Today was Sports day. Even though it was a little cold and windy out we bundled the kids up in hats and gloves and enjoyed the whole morning outside. For snack we had "football" ice cream sandwiches and lunch we had America's favorite sport food, hotdogs. Outside we played soccer, t-ball, football, hula hoops, crawling through tunnels, basketball and golf.

Crazy Hair...Don't Care!!!

Crazy hair day was a success! Thank you to all the parents who helped their child this morning. We had some pretty creative ones and ALL the kids kept their hair looking good until naptime. For our transportation theme we talked about, things that fly today. For art the kids made airplanes.

The wheels on the bus

Our transportation week has been fun this week! Today we talked about the different types of buses and what we use them for. For art we made school buses and we sang the song The wheels on the bus. This week we are also working on our addresses and shoe tying. The kids are all doing a great job remembering their own addresses. Even though it is frustrating for the kids, a few of them have figured out how to tie their shoes. They are not perfect but they understand what they have to do. Hopefully after a few weeks of practice they will have it down. :)

Transportation!

This week we are talking about all sorts of transportation. Today we learned what the word transportation means. For centers this week we have color sorting on the train cars, road construction, trains, trucks, cars, and train tracks. We are also writing our addresses, letter Zz and learning how to tie shoes. It is going to be a busy week. :)

Another rainy day!

After our visit from the meterologist we were able to finish up our Weather week. We did not have much time to do another cool art project so I printed coloring pictures with each childs name in the center of the picture.  Some of the kids wanted to take them home and do them. Since it was the last day they wanted to play with centers more.

We are going to be on the News!!

We had a great visit from meteorologist Kai O'Mara from KCRG this morning. Kai talked to the kids about severe weather and what we do if there is a severe storm or tornado, he made a snow flake and showed us how they are all different. The kids even got to see a tornado in a special tornado tube. They all thought it was pretty cool. The kids got great reviews from Kai on how much they knew and how well they sat and listened. The kids are beyond excited for the news tonight.
