We had a great time at Synergy Gymnastics! It was hard to get a clear photo today. The kids never slowed down until the very end. I ended up deleting most of them when I got back to Creation Kids because they were so blurry.
Today we learned about Pterodactyl's. It was a little confusing that is starts with a P but sounded like T. I'm not sure the kids really understood after 5 minutes of explaining the P is silent. We also learned that even though Pterodactyl's were around the same time as dinosaurs, they are not actually dinosaurs because they can fly so they are considered "flying reptile". We also did a sight word worksheet for the word: go.
Today we learned about Paleontologist and how they study the dinosaur fossils after they are dug up from the ground. We also learned how Paleontologist are able to match the bones to the exact dinosaur family it belongs to and how they are able to form a full dinosaur skeleton. Our science center this week is full of dirt and sand and dinosaur skeletons. We also have separate bone the kids can clean off with a brush and put together to form a T-Rex.
This week we are learning about Dinosaurs. This is one of our most popular themes we do each year. Today for art we made Triceratop mask. We learned Triceratops get their name because they have 3 horns on their head and they are herbivores. Our sight words this week are: (go, see) and our ryming word is: hop.
