Apple Explosions
We had a very busy day today. We did our worksheets first. Then for art we made apples using coffee filters that we dyed with red, yellow and green colors. We also did a science experiment, making Apple Volcano's. Each kid got an apple and we dug out the center. Then we put baking soda and apple pie powder (for the smell) inside the center of the apple. Then the kids poured green colored vinegar over the apple and watched the baking soda bubble up and over the apple. A few times the baking soda would spit the vinegar up and the kids thought it looked like a cool explosion. It was fun to watch each of their reactions.
