Today I planned to talked about sunny weather and being outside as much as possible. However, yesterday we talked about storms and the kids were still talking about that this morning. I was able to find a book about the different types of lightning and why it thunders after we see lightning. The kids were excited to read it and learn what each color of lightning meant (white, yellow, orange and purple). For art I planned to have the kids draw a picture of what it would look like out a window on a sunny day. Instead I let the kids draw anything they wanted out their windows. Many drew tornados, a few did sunny skies and the others did rain storms. They all turned out great!!!

Weather Week
This week we are talking about Weather. Today we talked about cloudy skies, rain and thunderstorms. Of course many of the kids said they loved the rain and jumping in the puddles. A few even said they enjoyed playing in the rain because it was just like taking a shower outside. We are continuing to write the letter Y this week, since last week was a short classroom week. For one of our centers the kids get to use my pointer and weather chart. They are pretending to be meterologist and telling us about the predicted upcoming weather.
